RDMS / Field Station

The Autonomechs Field Station is a remote data collection system designed for detecting environmental conditions and transmitting data back in real time. The station can be deployed in a variety of environmental conditions, and transmit back data using a variety of redundant communication options. Recently, the Field Station was demonstrated at the North Carolina State Fair as a communication system and portable housing to transmit environmental information to the Department of Agriculture. Previously, the system was deployed along the southern perimeter of the Superbowl while taking part in Operation Shadowbowl transmitting back live environmental (chemical and radiological) surroundings and a video feed.

Modular.
The Field Station is different from other deployed systems because it is designed to have a modular payload capability. Instead of using single, dedicated systems that will become out of date, the field station allows for multiple environmental sensors to be hot swapped creating a customized payload. The standard deployment system has one weather system, one radiological monitor, one battery, one reachback platform, and one renewable energy source.

The Field Station's strength is its ability to interface with any input, send it anywhere with a variety of outputs, and be powered from a combination of options.

- Cellular phone (GSM/GPRS)

- Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Current developments being prototyped include:
Hardware: We are currently integrating a pathogen sensor for use with the field station.
Software: We are currently integrating AES encryption into the platform for secure applications.
