The Autonomechs Prism

There is one solution to your environmental monitoring needs.

Prism is an Autonomechs system involving sensor integration in a variety of physical installation layers, sensor and communications payloads. Whether you are looking for a solution in wearable monitoring, stationary installation, or field monitoring, we have a proven system for you. Prism was designed to answer the communications gap between sensor networks and the specialists and decision makers who need the on site data without being there.  Prism is a modular plug and play hot swappable system that uses commercial serial protocols as well as customized device driver programming to connect to a variety of input and output devices.

The system can be powered from either of two external rechargeable battery packs (Lithium Ion or NiMh), included car adapter, and optional collapsible solar panel. The data can be sent out over RS-232, 900 mhz radio modem, USB, Infra-Red, Ethernet, 802.11abg, POTS (Plain Telephone Network), Cellular, and Satellite (Globalstar, Iridium, Starband, and Orbcomm approved). Data can be sent through Autonomechs collection servers, or be run solely by the client. Information can be collected from the unit by emails, web page parsing hosted by prism itself, telnet sessions, http posts, as well as within a variety of industry standard formats ranging from XML to CSV. We can custom tailor a data system to your needs, and reproduce it for as many systems as you require, free of charge.

The system can talk to a variety of wearable physiological monitors and medical devices, geiger counters, chemical aerosol detectors with Enmet's OnTarget or Rae System's Multirae, environmental sensors like weather stations and water quality, and location with any off the shelf GPS device. Our systems allow you to place a sensor at a desired location, and leave it. No more standing in the plume, or leaving highly trained personnel in harms way to continue monitoring an area. All components can be quickly swapped out and locked in with screw down serial connectors. The default system can talk to four devices at one time while transmitting information over TCP/IP.

Our systems have been used in a variety of austere environments ranging from bio-terrorism drills at military MOUT sites utilizing 802.11 networks, isolated desert climates utilizing satellite connectivity, and during presidential visits monitoring for chemical and radiological contaminants utilizing 802.11 and radio modems.

We can outfit your responders with sensors, and you with situational awareness

We can outfit your response vehicle (patrol or command) with enough sensors to determine what is going on in an area, and how bad the impact could be. We can outfit your ground personnel with wearable monitors to detect how they are doing physically, if there is a contaminant around them, and where they are, on the planet. We can outfit a complete station inside of a weather proof case to meet all of your sensor requirements. Rather then risking the lives of your people, leave our station to monitor an Ammonia tank for leakage, or a chlorine tank for tampering. Instead of your people checking a site, our station can remain at a site, always looking for possible danger. We will replace luck, and give you the knowledge you need to keep your people safe.

The output, can be statistical data or GIS data.

In addition to our work in field monitoring, there remains the ever important aspect of medical data communication. We have developed Prism with the ability to talk to a variety of medical devices and transmit the information from home sites back to central servers collecting the data. This same system was sent to the Amazon with the Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF) to give telemedicine benefits to the area. Read all about it here.
